Founded a century and a half ago, the Bahá'í Faith is among the fastest-growing of the major independent world religions with more than five million followers residing in virtually every nation on earth. Bahá'ís have been present in Cleveland, Ohio, since the early 1900's, when the Bahá'í Faith first came to America.
Bahá'ís are followers of Bahá'u'lláh (1817-1892), who we believe is the Promised One of all Ages. The Bahá'í Faith aims to unite all races and people in one universal Cause and one common Faith.
The teachings of Bahá'u'lláh address such issues as:
- the elimination of all prejudice
- the equality of women and men
- the spiritual education of children
- the importance of family cohesion
- the establishment of world peace
We believe that the Bahá'í Faith is more than just a fascinating religion with principles designed for this age -- it is a guide to living a better life and building the Kingdom of God on Earth.
